Regulation of employment agencies
Since January 1, 2020, the CNESST has implemented new provisions of the Act respecting labor standards. These provisions give new obligations and responsibilities to personnel placement agencies and temporary foreign worker recruiting agencies, client businesses of these agencies, as well as employers who hire temporary foreign workers.
Among these obligations, as of January 1, 2020, a personnel placement agency or a temporary foreign worker recruitment agency must hold a permit issued by the CNESST to carry out its activities.
